I started learning with K-N when I was about six years old. She was very fun to learn with, and always patient with me. In the beginning of her teaching me, she came up with something called ‘composeritis’, which was when I would make up a section in the piece accidentally! She was very good at turning my mistakes into fun. K-N is a fantastic teacher who is great at her job and always manages to make learning enjoyable. Whilst K-Nwas my teacher I advanced through the grades and played study pieces which I think have made my sound and technique overall better now. K-N got the best out of me by both being nice to be around and a very good teacher who always set me the perfect amount of work every week, making sure I was progressing regularly. I have now reached Grade 5 standard violin. Towards the end of K-N teaching me she also taught me some singing and that was also very vital to me getting a choral scholarship to St. Paul’s Cathedral in London. I am now one of the first girl choristers there in history. K-N is a great teacher and a lovely person, and I highly recommend her

When I hit the milestone of 60 years of age I decided to do something that I had always wanted to
do and that was to learn to play a musical instrument, I chose the Violin! I started working with Kathlyn in October 2022
and haven’t looked back! As an Adult learner it can be very challenging to learn any new skill but the
Violin is notoriously hard! Kathlyn has been very patient and is an excellent instructor.
I can now read music and am playing ever more challenging pieces as I move through the grades and
encouraged by Kathlyn I even played a piece at a local music festival which was a lot of fun!
I would thoroughly recommend Kathlyn to anyone thinking of taking lessons.

I came to Kathlyn after years not singing and having lost most of my range. Im super shy but she made me comfortable and we had fun lessons from day 1. She knows the ins and outs of why my voice does things and is able to explain in super simple terms and with lots of patience. My singing has improved so much in the last 2 years that I have now passed exams. She has also helped me with stage fright to the point where I have sung in public now twice (for the first time in my life)!!! Couldnt recommend her enough
